Warranty

LYNX Technik AG guarantees that the product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of three (3) years from the date of shipment. If a defect occurs during this warranty period, LYNX Technik AG, at its discretion, will either repair the product at no charge for parts and labor, or provide a replacement in exchange for the defective product.

To receive service under this warranty, customers must notify LYNX Technik of the defect before the warranty period expires and coordinate appropriate service arrangements. Customers are responsible for properly packaging and shipping the defective product to the service center specified by LYNX Technik, with all shipping costs prepaid. If the return shipment is within the same country as the LYNX Technik service center, LYNX Technik will cover the cost of returning the repaired or replacement product to the customer. For returns to any other location, the customer is responsible for all shipping costs, duties, taxes, and any additional fees.

This warranty does not cover defects, failures, or damage resulting from improper use, or inadequate maintenance or care. LYNX Technik is not obligated to provide service under this warranty in the following cases: (a) damage caused by installation, repair, or servicing attempts by anyone other than authorized LYNX Technik personnel; (b) damage resulting from misuse or connection to incompatible equipment; (c) malfunctions or damage caused by the use of non-LYNX Technik supplies; or (d) products that have been modified or integrated with other equipment, where such modification or integration complicates or extends the time required for servicing.

THIS WARRANTY IS GIVEN BY LYNX TECHNIK WITH RESPECT TO THIS PRODUCT IN LIEU OF ANY OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. LYNX TECHNIK AND ITS VENDORS DISCLAIM ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. LYNX TECHNIK`S RESPONISIBILITY TO REPAIR AND REPLACE DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS IS THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY PROVIDED TO THE CUSTOMER FOR BREACH OF THIS WARRANTY. LYNX TECHNIK AND ITS VENDORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES IRRESPECTIVE OF WHETHER LYNX TECHNIK OR THE VENDOR HAS ADVANCE NOTICE OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Extended Warranty Plan

The following terms set forth the policy for the LYNX Technik AG Extended Warranty Service Plan, which extends the standard warranty coverage for an additional period beyond the original term. Please note that this extended coverage does not apply to rechargeable battery packs.

Terms

  1. Extended warranty plans must be purchased in advance of the expiration of standard warranty coverage or the expiration of an existing extended warranty plan.
  2. Extended warranty coverage is available for up to 10 years of total protection, including the standard 3-year warranty.
  3. Extended warranty plans must be purchased prior to the product’s discontinuation. For products that have reached their end-of-life (EOL), extended warranty coverage may be granted for a maximum period of up to five (5) years from the official EOL date.
  4. There is no discount for extended warranty plans.
  5. Customers are responsible for all return shipping and insurance costs. LYNX Technik AG will provide standard (FedEx Ground) return shipping at no cost. For express or overnight shipping a bill to shipping account number is required.
  6. All requests for replacements must be made using our RMA process and the RMA number must be clearly indicated on all return shipments and documentation. Products returned without a valid RMA will be refused and returned to the sender, unopened and at the sender’s expense.
  7. All advance replacements will be invoiced and defective units are to be returned within thirty (30) days. Invoice becomes due after this period. There is a late return penalty of 10% based on current list prices for all units retuned later than thirty (30) days, compounding for each 30 day period thereafter.
  8. LYNX reserves the right to supply fully functional “like new” factory refurbished products during the extended warranty period, or substitute a later model of the defective unit that may have more features and slightly different functionality. All exchanged units automatically roll into the current extended warranty contract and can be exchanged again within the remaining contract period with no further costs.
  9. LYNX reserves the right to bill in full (or portion thereof) for an exchange unit if, after inspection, it is deemed to have been modified by the customer or subject to abnormal abuse or physical damage beyond normally expected wear and tear for the application intended.

 

Prices

Extended Warranty is available for coverage beyond the standard 3-year warranty, with annual costs calculated as a percentage of the product’s list price (excluding taxes and shipping) at the time of the extended warranty purchase:

  • Years 4 to 7: 4% per year
  • Year 8: 8%
  • Year 9: 10%
  • Year 10: 16%

Example for a 9-year extended plan: (4 x 4%) + (1 x 8%) + (1 x 10%) = 34% of list price at the time of the extended warranty purchase.
Customers may choose to purchase coverage year-by-year or for multiple years in advance, subject to plan availability and terms.

Documentation

Each Extended Warranty contract, once issued, will include a unique contract number and will specify the covered products by model and serial number. The contract number and RMA number must be referenced on all return requests.

Out of Warranty Repair and Exchange Policy

For products no longer covered by warranty, LYNX Technik offers a fixed-rate repair or exchange program. This service applies only to products that have experienced electrical failure and excludes those with physical damage beyond normal wear and tear, or any product that has been modified by the customer. In such excluded cases, a new replacement product must be purchased at the current list price.

 

Terms and Conditions

1. This policy applies only to current products which are not obsolete. **

2. An RMA must be obtained for any product return. Any product received without an RMA number will be returned to sender unopened, freight collect.

3. Purchase order or payment must be received before any repair work is undertaken.

4. Customers are responsible for all shipping, insurance, import/export fees, and any applicable taxes associated with sending products to and from designated LYNX Technik repair facilities (Weiterstadt Germany; Santa Clarita, California, USA and Singapore)

5. In urgent cases, advance replacements or loan units may be provided upon request, subject to a 25% surcharge on the standard repair cost and dependent on product availability. LYNX Technik reserves the right to return the original repaired product and require the return of the advance replacement or loan unit.

6. Upon receipt of the product, LYNX Technik will, at its sole discretion, either repair the item or provide a replacement. In the case of a replacement, LYNX Technik reserves the right to supply a fully functional factory-refurbished unit or a functionally equivalent product.

7. All repairs and/or replacements have a 90-day warranty.

8. No discounts apply to fixed repair costs.

9. Certain products are excluded from this program. These typically include software and firmware options, components prone to physical damage (such as transport cases and certain mechanical hardware), as well as consumable items like battery packs. In such cases, a replacement product or part must be purchased.

** After a product is discontinued, LYNX Technik will continue to offer support and service for up to five (5) years from the discontinuation date through its extended warranty plan. Products that have exceeded this five-year period are considered obsolete, and no repairs or exchanges will be provided for such products.
