The new OCM 1800 yellobrik can send or receive up to 18 individual signals over a single fiber link.
It uses coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) to combine multiple signals onto one fiber and separate them back out at the other end, making more efficient use of existing infrastructure. The OCM 1800 is a one piece multiplexer/de-multiplexer which improves signal strength compared to using daisy chained OCM 1841/42/43/44 and OCM 1891/92.
Supporting CWDM wavelengths from 1270–1610nm, it requires no power, making it an efficient choice for facilities that need to expand capacity without major infrastructure changes.
Finally, the OCM 1800 can be rack mounted easily without the need for additional component using the rack ears provided. It fits neatly within 1/2RU of a standard 19″ broadcast rack.
